I would be remiss if I didn’t comment on the superb show that Chris put on. He was on time, started
promptly at 7:00 p.m., and performed continually for over an hour. His performance was flawless, clean and
soooooo funny. I heard numerous comments by the audience as they filed out, that they couldn’t
remember when they laughed so hard, for so long. The same goes for me. Many have already requested a
return performance. If you ever need any recommendations for his performance you can surely call on me.

THE VILLAGES - Chris Michaels is a banjo player, guitarist, fiddler,
accordion player, bagpiper and humorist. According to this man of
many talents: "People either love my show or hate it . . . but they will
remember it!"
The people lucky enough to catch Michael's zany concert at the
Church on the Square Monday night fell into the "Love" category. As
Michaels' instant fans filed out of the church with smiles on their faces
and laughter in their hearts, one sentiment pervailed in their reaction
comments: "We have to see this guy again!"

Michaels, recent winner of the Florida State Finger Style Guitar Championship, has opened for such
headliners as Rodney Dangerfield and Lorrie Morgan and is a veteran of the amusement park circuit. "I've
worked for every major amusement park in the country," Michaels said. That experience led to his role as a
show producer at Sea World in Orlando.
In the Villages, Michaels impressed the audience with banter and his mastery of anything from which music
can be drawn, including a saw.
Michaels opened his hsow with a banjo performance of "Alabama Camptown Jubilee" and progressed to
playing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" on a saw, dueling himself in "Dueling Banjos" (playing two banjos at
once) and squeezing out the "Beer Barrel Polka" on the Accordion.
Michaels' show also included songs by Chet Atkins, an original work Michaels billed as "The world's worst
country song" and a Hawaiian song wheezed from the bagpipes.
It's the best entertainment I've ever seen here." Helen Winkler said.

We had the great pleasure of having Chris Michaels entertain us at our Ice Cream Social on March 7. It
proved to be one of the most enjoyable evenings we have had.
Chris developed a good rapport with the audience from the very first moment and maintained it throughout the
entire program. His musical talents are truly amazing, his banjo skills thrilled everyone. His ability to play so
many and varied numbers on the guitar was oustanding.
Chris Michaels was the topic around our park for quite a few days after the performance. People are still
saying that they hope we will have him return for another engagement.

MICHAELS CAN PLAY ANYTHING

THE VILLAGES - Chris Michaels isn't your typical musician, and that's a good thing.
While he sings and plays the guitar and banjo, Michaels also plays the harmonica, fiddle, bagpipes,
accordion, musical saw, and more recently, a conch shell.
"I've always been interested in the weird stuff," Michael's said. "I've always been a musical nonconformist.
I give (the audience) something they haven't seen before."
The Orlando-based musician went all over the musical map during his concert Wednesday night at the
Church on the Square.
On the banjo, Michaels played "The William Tell Overture."
He impressed the audience by playing a samba/jazz tune on the conch shell, playing it like a trumpet.
He later played a quivering version on Henry Mancini's "Moon River" on the musical saw, with the help of a
violin bow. Michael's learned the musical saw after seeing someone play it at the county fair. "It's a different
instrument people don't hear anymore."
The first instrument he picked up was the accordion, because he had won four free lessons at a county
fair. At one point, he played the drums in school, but he hasn't picked up drumsticks in a while.
His current favorite "instrument" is finger-style guitar, where he emulates the piano on the guitar; the
thumb plays what the left hand would do on the piano, while the other fingers play the melody. It can get
difficult sometimes. "It's like the first time you drive a clutch car," Michaels said. Some of his musical
heroes include Roy Clark, Victor Borge and Wayne Newton - entertainers who could play numerous
instruments. Michaels current favorite is Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel. "He'll knock you out,"
Michaels said. "The intricacy of his playing and his dynamic intensity is just incredible. "He's my new guitar
hero."

impressed with all the instruments that were played, all being played to perfection.
The committee was impressed with your early arrival, you gave yourself plenty of time to set up before the
audience arrived. (That is especially important in our park as the do arrive early.)

Chris Michaels appeared as our headliner for a comedy night at The Great Outdoors and brought the
crowd of 350 to their feet with his wonderful blend of comedy and music. This weekend we have heard
nothing but enthusiastic comments.
Chris is a talented musician with a great sense of comedy. In addition he has an easygoing personality
and excellent audience rapport.

Re: Your appearance at our Clubhouse

Thanks for the great performance! As I stood at the exit thanking people for coming, I heard innumerable
compliments about how much they enjoyed the show. "Best show of the year", "Great Show", "When can
we get him back?" were typical of the expressions I heard.
We especially admired your ability to mix a lot of good clean humor along with your superior musical talent.
Most of us had not heard a Musical Saw for a long time and it was a real treat to see how expertly you
played it.
All of our shows are rated on a scale of 1 to 10 by our audiences at the end of the season and I am certain
yours will be as close to a ten as humanly possible.
